Yogyakarta City takes the lead in Piloting Urban Article 6 for Climate Finance and Sustainable Development
Taking place in Yogyakarta City on 25 October 2023, ICLEI Indonesia in partnership with Perspectives Climate Research, successfully conducted a project assessment workshop and site visits. These activities aimed to identify opportunities for sustainable development and equip city officials with essential strategies for implementing ready-to-finance urban projects.

The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of Indonesia and the Ministry of Climate and Environment of Norway made a significant progress towards international climate collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate on the implementation of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.

The city transit system within Jakarta, Indonesia, aims to electrify 10,000 buses by 2030. The bus operating system, Transjakarta, financed the electrification with the city government paying them back at a fixed rate.
